Singapore-Batu Pahat
Well, been away since thursday 16/3/2006 till monday 20/3/2006. Cousin's wedding so went down to Singapore for her side's wedding dinner and Batu Pahat for the groom's side wedding dinner. At singapore, the dinner is held at the Reagent Hotel. The dishes were :
1. Four seasons
2. Shark's fin soup
3. Vegetables
4. Duck? Chicken? (I dun remember..either one la..hehe)
5. Lai Niu Prawn ( Hope u guys understand wat i'm trying to say)
6. Steamed Fish
7. Noodles
8. Some kind of dessert with mangoes and sago
The dinner went smoothly. The dinner started at 8 p.m as planned so i guess everyone was cooperating and arrived at soon as possible instead of the usual wedding culture where everyone arrives 2 hours late. Btw dinner was on the 16/03, yup same day as i rush down to Singapore with the auntie driving freakin slow. She was goin 80km/h on the highway...took us forever to reach Singapore.
Anyway after the dinner, stay a day at Singapore. Got to play my cousin's X-box...WUahahaha...
Too bad got to leave to Batu Pahat on the 18th.
At Batu Pahat, stayed at the Katerina Hotel, a fairly nice hotel and one of the very few tall buildings found in the town. So if we actualli get lost, just look out and head towards the tall building. The wedding dinner held at Ocean's Restaurant. We had :
1. Four seasons..again.
2. Abalone :)
3. Vegetables with 3 types of mushroom
4. Drunken Prawn
5. Fried Pig's Leg (yum yum)
6. Roasted Duck with special sauce
7. Steamed Fish
8. Some dessert (dunno how to describe in words)
Well, the dinner was on the 19th. Well there is the official wedding ceremony before dinner. Things like where the groom come jemput my cousin (the bride) den bring her back to his house..we follo in our respect cars, about 6 cars in total. Den there is the praying ceremony and the 'give tea' ceremony. Things like that la...till bout 3 p.m den rest for the dinner.
20th..the day suppose to drive back. But got up early in the morning, ate usual buffet breakfast at the hotel. Den we set out to visit my Uncle's kampung. My gosh...forget Glenmarie or Bangsar or wateva. Y?
Well, the 'house' or rather land...consist of 4 houses together, with swimming pool, basketball court, tennis court, futsal area and a natural paint ball area A.k.a banana/papaya plantation. What i trying to say is the freakin placeis freaking huge. N the people there also very friendly. We just go there visiting and take a look around they gave us a basket of papaya and a basket of banana :)
Anyway after visiting the house, we move on to tis temple deep into Batu Pahat till we reach the seaside. I didn;t noe Batu Pahat was actualli next to the sea..hhmm..
At the temple, there r lots of freaking huge Arowana fish (Araipana) , anyway suppose to be the largest fresh water fish la...We are suppose to touch the fish as it swims by..not anyone is able to touch it..only those with luck or it wants to give luck is able to touch it from head to tail...which i did...wuahahaha...(i'm a christian but who cares..just tagging along)
spend some time there taking pictures and stuff...den got go down the beach..lots of dead jellyfish...
After tat is lunch and go home. This time no auntie driving..i take the road myself..
1st time driving long distance. Got back pain...hehe..
tat's all for the trip.
